*Discuss student learning. What did students learn? Provide evidence for this learning (discuss student work, observation data, video, etc.). How do you know that students learned?
For my second observed lesson this semester, I decided to continue with math. We were still in the Related Facts chapter and have previously talked about the significance of the equal sign. In this lesson, I had my studens review whether a number sentence was true or false based upon the order of operation that it possesed and had them do a worksheet in which they filled in the missing operation that would make the equation true. For my first activity, I had the students sit on the carpet and decide whether or not an equation was true or false. I had them get whiteboards and markers so that they could work out the problem to see if it made sense. Afterwards, I would have the students turn and talk with their carpet buddy and discuss how they decided whether it was true or not, what strategy they used to prove so, and whether or not they agreed with each other about how they resolved the problem. Then, I would have one student come up and explain how they got their answer and place the equation on the side of the chart that was true or false.
*Select several questions from the USF lesson plan reflection sheet based on content.
*What did you learn from engaging in this lesson?
*What are some of your goals based on what you learned from this lesson?
Make sure to include artifacts as a part of this blog post--student work (names scratched out), pics from lesson (no student faces), resources created, etc.You must also include specific times from video as you discuss aspects of the lesson.
