I think that the Code of Ethics is a guide for teachers and future teachers to adhere to in order to be productive teachers and also maintain ethical practice towards students and peers. The Code of Ethics gives a guideline for teachers to follow so that they can perform optimally in their teaching profession. The Code of Ethics include indicators that a teachers should be following. These indicators include maintaining professionalism, a commitment to collaboration, continuous professional learning, respect for diversity, and care and advocacy for students.

A specific example that I demonstrated this semester would be maintaining the confidentiality of students and their records on my social media platforms. Throughout this web page, I show confidentiality by using pseudonyms for students, blurring out names and faces in photos and keeping their personal family information discrete on my webpage. This is important because if I do not get authorization to use their names and faces, I would be violating the code of ethics by showing ethical irresponsibility. This specific example is connected to the Code of Ethics because I am showing that I know how to be ethically responsible when dealing with sensitive information about students and their families.
