A. ORGANIZES, ALLOCATES, AND MANAGES THE RESOURCES OF TIME, SPACE, & ATTENTION

2
For FEAP 2A, I connected it to the brain breaks that we often do in my first grade classroom. Brain breaks are quick exercises that we have the students do to get them up and moving so that they can take a break from continuos school work. Sometimes the students grow restless and need to move around so they can get their energy out so that they can continue on and focus on the task at hand. In the picture, it shows my students taking part in a brain break that has them moving around. We are playing a brain break on the computer projected on the overhead that directs what the students should be doing. This activity relates to FEAP2A because brain breaks help teachers manage the instruction time and the attention of the students. Sometimes as teachers we just want to rush through a less but that may not be as affective because the students may not be giving their full attention to what is going on in the classroom. Brain breaks help the students focus their attention so they can use their time effectively in the classroom.
b. Manages individual and class behaviors through a well-planned management system;

For FEAP 2B, I connected it a blog that I did for my classroom management course. In this blog it talks about to different discipline strategies that teachers may exhibit in the classroom, cooperative and assertive discipline. Cooperative discipline explains that teachers should create an environment in which students feel capable, connect to others, and contributing members of the classroom. It explains that teachers should manage misbehavior in a way that focuses on creating an environment that meets the psychological needs that are not being met that are causing them to misbehave. Assertive discipline focus more on deal with the actions of students rather than the cause. It explains certain steps that teachers should do when a child misbehaves like giving them warnings, reminding them of the class rules, and letting them know that they have choice when it comes to their actions and the consequences that come with them.
c. Conveys high expectations to all students;

FEAP2C relates to my time during the summer in which I interned at the Boys and Girls Club. During that experience, I had the opportunity to deal with a different demographic of students. The students came from low SES background and often exhibited misbehaviors like noncompliance, lack of effort, or quarrels with adults and other students. In this blog, I explain that even though these students may come from difficult backgrounds, teachers should not set lower expectations for them with their behavior or academically. I explain that I still expected the students to not give up on their work and that I would not allow them to act any certain way just because others did not expect them to behave properly.
d. Respects students’ cultural linguistic and family background;

FEAP2D: This is an image of a birthday chart in my classroom. Most of the students are displayed on the wall but some are not. Certain students in my classroom do not celebrate birthdays due to religious beliefs. We did not put them on the board to respect the student's cultural and family background.
e. Models clear, acceptable oral and written communication skills;

There are a few features in this photo that relate to FEAP2E. One is the display of the math word problem that is on the overhead. My teachers and I do this for every math class so that they students can refer back to the question. As the teacher, I would say the problem out loud and focus on the key points that they students should focus on in the word problem. I also underline the main points in the word problem as well. This is clarifying for the students the word problem in a written and oral way. I also want to spotlight the objectives that are displayed on the board for the students. I refer to the objectives in the beginning of the lesson by orally saying what the students should know how to do in each subject that day while also having it written on the board for them to refer back to.
f. Maintains a climate of openness, inquiry, fairness and support;
FEAP2F: In this blog, I discuss how positive relationships are vital to ensure openness, fairness, and support for the students. In this blog I write about the importance of getting to know the students so that you can know how to support their educational and emotional needs. Fairness is not allow equal treatment. Knowing what certain students need that others may not create a fair environment in the classroom since you are considering the individual needs of each student. I discuss the importance of openness by getting to know the backgrounds of your students. Many of the students will come from a background different to your own experience so it is important to know these differences and be open to them.

g. Integrates current information and communication technologies;
FEAP2G: This is a screenshot image of the text messages that are giving out by my CT's to my co-intern and I and also parents. This is a resourceful tool that allows for quick communication between the teacher and parents. It is mostly used for important reminders such as conference nights or upcoming field trips.

h. Adapts the learning environment to accommodate the differing needs and diversity of students
FEAP2H refers to adapting the learning environment to accommodate for the differing needs of students. In this photo, we see that the learning environment is flexible for students who are still eating breakfast in the morning. Not all of our students have either the food or time to eat at home. They may come to school later than other students and may not have time to finish their meals before the bell rings. We accommodate for these students by allowing them to finish their meals at a separate table that allows for them to still pay attention to the lesson.

i. Utilizes current and emerging assistive technologies that enable students to participate in high-quality communication interactions and achieve their educational goals.
FEAP2 Using technology in the classroom is one of the best things to do. My students love using the SmartBoard during lesson because it's fun and engaging for them. In this photo, a student is circling words that have "sh-, ch-, th-" blends. Having the students take charge of their own learning through technology allows for them to communicate their knowledge of the subject in a different way while achieving their educational goals.
