The first picture is an image of things that are in our safe zone area. These items help students who are feeling fustrated get away from the group and assess how they feel. There is a journal for them to right or draw how what they want to let out. Also, there is a feeling chart and also books they can read that may relate to their emotional situation.

The second picture is of our behavior chart. My CT's believe in being consistent in using this method but most student only go down instead of going up on the chart. I am going to try to speak up when I see students behaving above and beyond instead of not saying anything at all. Also, today I asked students to make choices when they misbehaved in the classroom. I have seen my CTs do it and this method really works with the students. The idea is to give students two choices, both leading to outcomes that will redirect their behvior in a positive way.

**REVISED SECTION**

In my classroom, my co-intern and I are collecting data about behavior management and trends that we see with our students who are behaving against the classroom procedures. So far, I have collected a student simple student survey in order to get understand more about my student's interests and what they prefer. We also collected information from our CT's about the individual traits of each of our students. We know who has ADHD, speech issues, and emotional issues in the classroom. During class, I observe about 6 students each day and see how they are behaving in the classroom, whether it be not showing a lot of participation in class, or what triggers them to have an emotional breakdown. It is easy to just focus on the more vocal students in the classroom so I set up my data observation in which I look at the students who aren't as vocal and engaged and see what is causing that. I also see who goes to the safe zone and how often they end up their each day. This inquiry is mainly about observing the students and seeing what triggers their behavior.

There are a few students in my classroom who are ADHD. I realize that even those who are medicated have some behavior management issues. For one of my more challenging student, we are using certain tools to aid him with his self-control in the classroom. The teacher and student both worked in creating his weekly goal sheet. He created the picture art to go with it.. Each morning, they go over his goal for the day which has been self-control so far. On the sheet, it describes what he will get if he meets his goal and then a space that checks if he did in the beginning and the end of the day. Since he helped create the chart, he has a sense of ownership with it. We remind him of his goal every time he goes against it.

Also, for the whole classroom, we collect data on each student and how they do throughout the day each week. This is based off the daily notes the that teachers out in their planners each day. This shows us trends in their behavior and when they occur during the week. This will help me stop the behavior before they start in the classroom.

Some of the trends shown in the data can be found most clearly in the weekly assessment of each students behavior. Each behavior has a specific number and we can see what behaviors keep arising and when for each student. Some of the trends I am seeing in the classroom, is that the students have trouble following directions and have to move their clip because they are either defiant or neglegant of doing what the teacher asks of them. Another trend that I have noticed is that most of the outbursts or troubles we have from students come from the ones who have ADHD. They are more likely to not want to engage in what they whole class is doing, have attitude problems with the teacher, and do not want to change their clip when the teacher asks them to. From other students, I am seeing a trend in some of their girls in that they are more likely to have emotional breakdowns when they are too hard on themselves and shut down for the majority of the lesson. Some utilize the safe zone while other just withdraw from the classroom activities.

Based upon all this data collection and trends that I have noticed, I have come up with my wondering for my inquiry. I am wondering what extra support could be given to my, disruptive, distracted, unengaged, and emotional students to help them behaviorally in the classroom. This could range from what methods I could change as a teacher that will help the whole classroom, to finding stratgies to help individual students so that the whole class can run smoothly.

At this point, I am still unsure about the stratgies I would like to try with my students and what will help them best in the classroom. My CT is going to a training soon about the issues in behavior that we have in our class, so I will draw from the strategies she learned from that. Also, I will collect article references that will help me gain stratgies to ouse with my students.
